Pre-drill, Pre-construction, and Complaint Water Surveys

Pennsylvania's Oil & Gas Act requires that for an operator (drilling company) to preserve its defense that it did not contaminate or negatively impact a water supply, they should conduct predrilling water surveys of all water supplies located within 1000' of their proposed tope hole location(s) within 6 months of drilling. The surveys should be conducted by an independent firm and analyzed by a certified drinking water laboratory. Environmental Service Laboratories is the comprehensive & cost-effective solution by providing both the sampling and analysis as a "one-stop shop".

ESL's professional and friendly field technicians are trained in proper sample collection techniques and are committed to making sure no water sources are missed – no matter how many purveyors are within the radius of concern. Dedicated office personnel monitor each predrill order from receipt through completion by coordinating appointments between ESL's field technicians and purveyors, sending certified mail correspondence, assembling final report packages, and sending final report packages to purveyors and/or PADEP – all while keeping the operator informed with status updates. Custom reporting formats and Electronic Data Deliverables (EDDs) can be easily generated to sync with an operator's internal database, GIS program, or membership organization database (i.e. the MSC's Earthsoft EQUIS database).

ESL is accredited for the entire Marcellus Shale Coalition's Predrill BMP list of analytes and the PADEP Recommended predrill parameter list, so samples don't have to be shipped all over the country for subcontracted analysis. ESL's certified predrill analytical capabilities include:
